Our comprehensive Phlebotomy Technician program prepares you with the knowledge and clinical practice needed to enter this fast-growing healthcare field.
This course provides a strong foundation in both theory and hands-on training, including:
- Venipuncture and capillary blood collection
- Safety procedures and infection control
- Medical terminology for healthcare professionals
- Orientation to the clinical laboratory and healthcare system
- Specimen handling and processing
- Vital signs monitoring: blood pressure, pulse, and respiration
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers

- 120 hours of lecture and lab instruction
- Clinical externship: students must complete 100 successful venipunctures at a clinical site in a minimum of 80 hours
- Externships must begin within two months of completing classroom training
Upon completion, students are eligible to sit for a national certification exam and may pursue employment as phlebotomists.
The demand for phlebotomists continues to rise — employment is projected to grow 23% from 2018 to 2028, much faster than the average for all occupations. Graduates are prepared for careers in hospitals, Diagnostic laboratories, Blood donor centers and Physician offices and outpatient clinics.
