Build the skills and confidence to respond when every second counts. NCC’s Emergency Medical Services training combines classroom instruction with hands-on skills development to prepare you to provide emergency care in prehospital and first-responder settings.

Choose the Path That's Right for You
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
Prepare to assess and treat sick and injured patients in emergency situations. Training covers EMS operations, airway management, BLS/CPR, medical and traumatic emergencies, patient movement, incident management and more.
Emergency Medical Responder (EMR)
Build foundational emergency response skills for first-responder, industrial and prehospital settings. This approximately 90-hour program covers CPR, airway management, patient assessment, medical and trauma emergencies, special patient populations and EMS operations.

Before enrolling in EMT training, students must:
- Be at least 16 years old
- Have personal health insurance
- Complete required criminal, FBI and child abuse clearances
- Complete required FEMA and hazardous materials training
- Attend the mandatory orientation
Requirements for enrollment:
- Some requirements have fees which are the responsibility of the student.
- Must be at least sixteen years of age to enroll.
- There is no absenteeism allowed for the duration of these programs. Candidates for the EMT and EMR programs must attend a mandatory orientation session prior to enrolling.
Must be completed prior to registering:
- Proof of personal health insurance. Insurance must cover the student for the duration of the course. Proof of personal health insurance is required to attend this program. Short-term, personal health insurance may be available at www.pahealthinsurancecoverage.com/short-term-coverage/.
- Pennsylvania Criminal Background Clearance (PATCH)
- FBI Criminal Background Clearance
- Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance
Must be completed by the first day of class:
- Uniform: Navy Blue or Black trousers or BDU pants, closed toe shoes or boots. No sneakers or open toe shoes such as flip flops or sandals. Wristwatch with second hand is required.
- Completion of FEMA online training courses IS-100.c and IS-700.b.
- Completion of PA online Hazardous Materials Awareness course.
The EMT course fee is currently $1,850 and includes the textbook, online learning access, uniform polo, CPR pocket mask and malpractice insurance. The NREMT certification exam fee is separate.
