Resources for Veterans

Northampton Community College is committed to supporting the success of veteran and military-affiliated students as they work toward their educational and career goals.

NCC offers a variety of resources designed to support the unique needs of veterans, service members, and their families. These resources help students navigate their academic journey, access campus services, and connect with a supportive community.

Through dedicated support services, campus programs, and student organizations, NCC strives to create a welcoming and military-friendly environment. Students are encouraged to take advantage of opportunities that promote academic success, professional development, and camaraderie with fellow veterans and military-affiliated students.

NCC Resources

The Band of Brothers (BOB) is a student-run organization dedicated to supporting and advocating for student veterans at Northampton Community College. BOB provides opportunities for connection, mentorship, and engagement while helping veterans successfully transition from military service to college life.

Through collaboration with both campus departments and community partners, BOB connects members with valuable resources, networking opportunities, and support services. The organization’s goal is to build camaraderie among student veterans, their families, and allies while fostering a strong foundation for academic, professional, and personal success.

BOB welcomes and encourages participation from veterans, active-duty service members, National Guard and Reserve members, and military-affiliated students, including spouses and dependents and other allies.

Recognizing the unique service and sacrifices of our military-affiliated community, Northampton Community College is committed to supporting student veterans, service members and their families throughout their academic journey. The Veteran Resource Center (VRC) is a dedicated space designed to support students’ educational goals while encouraging personal growth and community connection.

Many veterans and service members identify the loss of camaraderie as one of the greatest challenges when transitioning from military life to college. The VRC provides a welcoming environment where veterans and service members can reconnect with peers who share similar experiences while building new friendships and support networks.

The space serves as both a study area and community hub, offering resources that help student veterans succeed academically and professionally.

The VRC also serves as a gathering place for the Band of Brothers (BOB) Student Veteran Organization. Meetings, programming events, and opportunities to network with fellow veterans and campus partners are often held in this space. Through these opportunities, students can collaborate, build leadership skills, and develop connections that support their academic and professional goals.

Northampton Community College encourages students to bring their authentic selves to campus and supports a culture of respect, inclusion, and community.

Space Expectations

The Veteran Resource Center is intended primarily for veterans, service members and their families as a designated Green Zone space where they can study, collaborate, decompress, and connect with peers.

Students are asked to be conscientious of others who may be waiting to use computers or other resources within the space. Respectful behavior toward fellow students, faculty, and staff is expected at all times.

Any misconduct—including behavior that violates the Student Code of Conduct, disrespect toward others, or misuse of the space—may result in loss of access to the VRC. The center is a privilege designed to support the veteran community.

If you observe misconduct, inappropriate behavior, or concerning language within the space, please report it to veterans@northampton.edu.
