The Transformative Power of Education: Celebrating Intellect, Imagination, and Discovery
In honor of Northampton Community College’s 60th Anniversary, NCC’s Annual Humanities Theme for 2026 - 2027 entitled The Transformative Power of Education: Celebrating Intellect, Imagination, and Discovery, examines the vital and empowering role educational institutions provide societies and its citizens. Events and happenings for this year will seek to champion galvanizing and innovative educational practices that provide compelling and inspiring perspectives about past, present and future of education. This purposeful celebration of the synergistic partnership between teachers and students is at the heart of NCC’s 60-year history, a legacy of transforming lives and serving dynamic, diverse communities.
Northampton Community College established an endowment for the humanities in 2009, initially through a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities and matching gifts from generous donors. Each year the endowment funds an annual theme led by a member of the faculty who develops a program of engaging educational events for students, faculty and staff, and our surrounding communities. Events are open to the public, free of charge.
