The Learning Center is a welcoming and inclusive environment where you are empowered to become an independent learner and achieve your academic goals through individualized academic support.

The learning center offers tutoring in a wide variety of subjects and personalized academic coaching. As a student, you may utilize our services at the Bethlehem Campus, Pocono Campus, or online regardless of where you take your classes.

Tutoring is not only for students who are struggling in a course.  Our most successful students take advantage of the Learning Center to reinforce their understanding of course content and refine their subject-specific study strategies.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Learning Center is open Monday through Friday during both the Fall and Spring semesters. Online tutoring is available throughout all semesters, with hours subject to change based on an "as needed" basis.

The Learning Center's online tutoring services invites both students and tutors to utilize the "Virtual Front Desk" feature. This will allow you to speak to one of our front desk student assistants, receptionists, coordinators, or directors. Moreover, if you’d like to report an issue, you can email us at the following: tutoring@northampton.edu; or call us and leave a message: (610) 861-5517.

For assistance specifically with Blackboard, you can call the Blackboard Support Line at (610) 332-6089 and leave a message. A member of Online Learning, or a Blackboard Help Desk representative, will return your call to assist you.

If you want to notify your tutor that you've arrived, simply follow these steps: click on the purple arrow in the corner (the collaborative panel), click on the chat bubble, and then say "hello" to your tutor!

If you require further assistance, please visit the Virtual Front Desk.

Interested in working at The Learning Center?

The Learning Center employs professional tutors and academic coaches, peer tutors, and front desk assistants. Typically, we have the most need for tutors during the fall and spring semesters; however, we also hire on an as-needed basis throughout the year. All tutors and academic coaches earn a College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) Level I certification.

If you are a current NCC student and you want to become a peer tutor, you must have completed the course(s) you want to tutor, provide your unofficial transcript, and have a faculty reference. Peer tutors should apply here.

If you have earned a degree and want to become a professional tutor, apply on the NCC HR website.
